Training and Consultancy

Proud2Be Training

We develop and deliver training to suit the needs of you and your organisation.

Learning takes place through a mix of group discussions, real-life case studies, Q&A sessions and workshop activities. We provide a participative approach to learning and always aim to meet participants at their own level of understanding and knowledge. Our sessions are engaging, fun and interactive.

Together, we explore keys terms and definitions, myths and stereotypes, the effects of prejudice and discrimination and practical ways to support LGBTQ+ people and make your practice and/or physical space more LGBTQ+ inclusive.

Proud2Be Consultancy

Whether working with you on a one-off intervention or in a longer-term partnership, our aim is to work with you to identify where you are already doing great work and implement and embed changes to make your organisation even more LGBTQ+ inclusive.

Julie Wyman, Devon Counselling College

I just wanted to thank you for the workshop you ran for us on Saturday afternoon; it really got the learners thinking about gender and difference in general. What a fabulous and extremely connective way to present it – your openness and willingness to discuss each and every question that was raised was remarkable.

Head of Primary School in Devon

Max was an excellent trainer, creating a safe, non judgemental and professional environment to explore thought and ideas whilst learning new terminology. All staff enjoyed the sessions and gained understanding and confidence. The work on stereotypes and scenarios were really useful. Thank you.

A comfortable environment was created immediately by the trainers and they showed an understanding of our school’s ethos very quickly. I highly recommend them and the content.

Maya and Max were really great. Their contact before, during and after the training sessions was brilliant and the training was engaging and pitched at the right level for the team.

The training was really helpful, Max and Maya executed it brilliantly, they were understanding and informative. When people say its a ‘safe space’ that is often just because they have to and really you still feel you could be judged, where as with this training it really did feel safe and completely open to ideas, thoughts and feelings.

Youth Worker- Space*

I learnt so much! And took away a lot; I work in a youth centre and I have come away and re-evaluated our centre and displays to make sure they promote gender identity and equality.

So refreshing not to be looking at a screen and doing the icebreaker games were great. Made me think about how to ensure our setting is LGBTQ friendly and gave me ideas for how to embed some related conversations into daily life.

The facilitator was excellent. Not too rigidly set to their own agenda and able to facilitate an open discussion around difficult issues that would have been difficult to manage without them.

A warm yet professional tone was immediately established by the course leader which allowed insightful discussion to take place across both training sessions. I feel that me and my staff were fortunate to have taken part.

Beverley Britton- Programme Manager South Region, Princes Trust

What an impact you made, conversations are still going on today and this was exactly the result we all wanted, keeping diversity at the forefront of what we do. More referrals to our programmes are being made from the LGBTQ community as a result of your inspiring session.

Dan Phillips, The Princes Trust

I recently caught up with Max and Maya at a training event they ran for Prince’s Trust mentors. It was one of the best sessions on diversity I have attended and the feedback was excellent.

Max and Maya were a joy to work with. They were determined to deliver their message clearly and worked hard to develop an authentic and inspiring talk. As speakers they have a natural and engaging style and their talk was passionate, personal and clear. Their talk is unmissable!
