121 Youth Support

Proud2Be offers 121 practical and emotional support for LGBTQ+ young people, aged 11-19 (up to 25 if you have special educational needs and/or disabilities) in Devon.

121 Support Sessions often focus on some of these areas:

  • talking about your feelings
  • offering practical support when appropriate
  • improving emotional wellbeing
  • increasing resilience
  • building and encouraging healthy relationships
  • building self-esteem and self-confidence
  • improving communication between friends and family members
  • keeping emotionally and physically safe

The 121 support provides a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space for young people to talk openly and freely with someone who is not a friend or family member. This support is not counselling and our youth support workers are not counsellors. If we felt that a counsellor would be better placed to give support, we would discuss those options with you.

Young people can self-refer into this service. Anyone supporting a young person can also make a referral. Before making a referral, please talk to the young person about what is on offer and whether they would like some extra support.

For more information please get in touch.

School Counsellor

I recently had my final counselling session with a pupil who you came into school to see. He told me how meeting you had such a positive impact on how he was feeling at that time. I wanted to say a huge thank you for reaching out to him at a time when he needed some answers.
