🎓 Training & Consultancy
Delivered a range of LGBTQIA+ Inclusivity Training and Consultancy sessions across Devon and the South West, reaching over 340 attendees across multiple sectors, including:
– Further Education Colleges (Plymouth, Devon)
– Housing Associations (Devon, Cornwall & Teignbridge)
– Independent and Special Schools (Devon)
– Universities (Devon)
– Youth Charities (Devon)
– Arts & Culture Networks (Exeter/South West)

– Teamed up with Dr Asher Larmie aka The Fat Doctor to host ‘The Way Weight Stigma Impacts The LGBTQIA+ Population’ online talk in the lead-up to Proud2Be Totnes Pride 2022!
– Hosted the tenth Totnes Pride with the largest street procession and day event yet, including workshops, community stalls, live music, arts and crafts and much more!
– Promoted and celebrated our work at 2 Pride events in Devon
– Delivered an ‘Introduction to LGBTQ+ Awareness’ training session to teaching staff at a secondary school in West Devon
– Delivered an ‘Introduction to LGBTQ+ Awareness’ training session to Hairdressers and Hairdressing lecturers in South Devon
– Delivered an ‘Introduction to LGBTQ+ awareness’ online training session to staff and volunteers at a youth charity in the South West
– Delivered an ‘Introduction to LGBTQ+ Awareness’ training session to a youth charity specialising in providing arts therapies for children and young people in Devon
– Delivered a ‘How to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ young people: a co-creation
workshop’ to 11-18-year-olds at ‘LGBTQ+ takeover’ at Paignton Library, organised by Doorstep Arts
– Delivered an ‘LGBTQ+ Awareness: The Basics’ training session to health practitioners at a medical practice in South Devon
– Delivered 2 ‘Introduction to LGBTQ+ awareness’ training sessions for 2 upcoming cohorts of students who will be supporting children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, at a university in Devon
– Delivered a full-day LGBTQ+ Awareness Training session to teaching and admin staff at a special school in Bristol
– Delivered a series of LGBTQ+ awareness workshops to year 8 & 10 students in Devon as part of their PSHE day
– Delivered a half-day LGBTQ+ Awareness training session to teaching staff at a secondary school in Torbay
– Delivered a half-day Gender Identity
Awareness’ CPD session for a national transformation programme that seeks to improve the quality and access of services that provide emotional wellbeing support for children and young people, led by a university in Devon

Facilitated 15 Totnes Pride Action Group meetings
– Hosted Totnes Pride 2021 with a total of 10 events over 3 days including talks, workshops, and discussions about anti-racism, homelessness, mental health, gender, and self-compassion plus drumming, crafts, and a brand new Proud2Be living libraries event!
– Provided weekly emergency food parcels for 9 weeks to 5 households in Devon
– The team took part in anti-racism training facilitated by the fantastic JMB Consulting – a really important part of our work to become a truly anti-racist organisation
– Delivered Proud2Be Online LGBTQ+ Awareness (Introductory) training to workers at a housing association in Devon
– Delivered Proud2Be Online LGBTQ+ Awareness (Introductory) training to mentors at a youth charity in Devon
– Delivered Proud2Be Online LGBTQ+ Awareness (Introductory) training to support workers who work with adults who are not in employment
– Delivered Proud2Be Online LGBTQ+ Awareness (The Basics) training to teaching staff at several primary and secondary schools in Devon
– Delivered Proud2Be Online LGBTQ+ Awareness (The Basics) training to youth support workers across Devon
– Delivered a series of LGBTQ+ awareness workshops to year 10 students at a secondary school in Devon

– Raised the Rainbow Flag above Totnes Civic Hall to launch the seventh Totnes Pride. The ceremony featured a performance by members of choir Global Harmony
– Hosted the seventh Totnes Pride with the largest street procession, day event and cabaret yet, including youth-led workshops, talks and panel discussion
– Facilitated 2 focus groups with family members of LGBTQ+ children/young people in South Devon
– Launched the first Proud2Be Families Group, a monthly peer support group for the family members of LGBTQ+ children and young people, to come together for mutual support
– Facilitated 8 Proud2Be Families Group sessions in South Devon
– Hosted the first-ever Proud2Be youth residential in South Devon which included a ‘Conflict Resolution’ workshop and a’ Your Voice – being an activist’ workshop
– Danielle from The Remote Speaker Coach attended 2 Proud2Be youth sessions and worked with a number of Proud2Be youth participants to increase confidence around public speaking
– Ran a successful Crowdfunder campaign, raising funds to take a group of LGBTQ+ young people to Trans Pride in Brighton
– Attended Trans Pride Brighton with members of the Proud2Be youth group
– Facilitated the fourth Proud2Be Team Residential at Sandwell Barns at Eden Rise which included the delivery of ‘Professional Boundaries’, ‘Confidentiality’ and ‘Recognising our Skills, Strengths and Achievements’ Training to Proud2Be team members
– Celebrated and promoted our work at 2 local Pride, LGBTQ+ &/or community events
– Delivered Anti-HBT Bullying teacher training sessions to 5 schools in Devon, as part of the National Anti-HBT Bullying Alliance
– Delivered awareness workshops to 2 primary schools in South Devon
– Delivered a series of LGBTQ+ awareness workshops to year 9 students as part of their PSHE day
– Delivered a ‘Maintaining mental health for trans and/or non-binary young people’ talk at a conference for heads and principals at SEND schools in the South West
– Delivered a trans awareness workshop to youth support workers and police officers in West Devon
– Delivered 2 LGBTQ+ awareness training sessions to workers at a residential home for older people in East Devon
– Delivered an ‘Identity’ workshop to young people attending an Empowering Enterprise’ course at a youth charity
– Delivered trans awareness and anti-HBT hate crime training during a staff development day in South Devon
– Delivered an LGBTQ+ awareness workshop to staff at Active Devon
– Delivered an LGBTQ+ awareness workshop to young people planning on setting up an ambassadors programme at their school in Devon
– Delivered a number of LGBTQ+ awareness workshops over 4 days to Devon Carers staff and Carer Ambassadors as part of the ‘Strengthening Support Programme’
– Delivered a number of LGBTQ+ awareness workshop to teaching staff at a special school in North Devon
– Proud2Be founders Max and Maya delivered a number of LGBTQ+ awareness talks to teaching staff at 3 special schools in Reading
– Delivered a trans awareness workshop to trainee counsellors in Devon
– Lush Plymouth and Lush Exeter both held a ‘Charity Pot Party’ for Proud2Be. Over the course of both weekends, all proceeds (minus VAT) from sales of their Charity Pot hand and body lotion, were donated to Proud2Be to support our work

– Hosted a Rainbow Flag Raising Ceremony to launch the fifth Totnes Pride. The ceremony included a performance from Newton Community Ensemble and was followed by the Totnes LGBTQ+ History Tour
– Hosted the fifth Totnes Pride with the largest street procession, day event and after party yet.
– Facilitated the second Proud2Be Volunteer Residential at Sandwell Barns at Eden Rise which included the delivery of Safeguarding Children and Young People Level 1 Training & Gender Identity Awareness Training to regular Proud2Be volunteers
– Received support in principle from the County Council’s Highways and Traffic Orders Committee for our proposal to install Europe’s first permanent rainbow crossing in Totnes
– Delivered 7 mentoring sessions to 1 young person in South Devon
– Developed and delivered Anti-HBT Bullying teacher training sessions to 10 school’s in Devon, as part of the National Anti-HBT Bullying Alliance
– Delivered LGBT+ Awareness workshops for 4 PSHE days at schools in South Devon
– Delivered 1 Q&A Session for students at a school in East Devon
– Delivered 1 LGBT+ Hate Crime workshop to young people at a youth group in rural Devon
– Delivered 2 LGBT+ Awareness workshops to the charity sector
– Delivered 2 Totnes Pride Volunteer Training Sessions in Totnes, South Devon
– Delivered 1 Gender Identity Workshop to youth workers at Space*
– Co-founder Maya was one of the keynote speakers at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School Wellbeing Event
– Celebrated and promoted our work at 4 local Pride, LGBTQ+ &/or Wellbeing events
– Recorded a bitesize video for LGBT Consortium on ‘involving the wider community’
– Shortlisted for the ‘LGBT Community Organisation’ award at The National Diversity Awards 2017
– 2 youth group members attended the “Youth Work Works” Conference (accompanied by a youth worker) and helped to facilitate a “Hate Crime- What Is It?” workshop to youth workers
– 6 youth group members took part in a “mystery shopping” activity and met with counsellors from a youth charity and gave feedback on the welcome, approach and advice given 
– 3 youth group members helped to run a Proud2Be stall at an LGBT+ Play Day in Torbay, Devon
– Proud2Be youth group members redefined the Terms We Use
– 11 youth group members helped to run a Proud2Be stall at Exeter Pride
– 4 youth group members helped to run a Proud2Be stall at Plymouth Pride
– 1 youth group member attended the ‘Keeping Young Totnes Safe’ meeting hosted by Caring Town (accompanied by a youth worker)
– Received funding from People’s Health Trust enabling Proud2Be to continue running all of it’s current community services in South Devon for the next two years
– Extended Proud2Be’s craft days from 5 sessions a year to one session a month
– Announced as one of the partners of the Devon Engagement Service led by Living Options Devon
– Received funding from Awards4All and Small Grant Fund (SGF) enabling Proud2Be to pilot a fortnightly sexual health drop-in & a counselling & mentoring service for LGBTQIA+ young people
– Proud2Be was awarded £400 from the ‘Boo Boost 2017’ Fund
– Co-founder Max was offered a place on the School for Social Entrepreneurs Cornwall Lloyds Bank Trade-up Programme.

– Facilitated 12 social groups in South Devon, with an average of 30 people attending each month
– Hosted the third ever Totnes Pride, with the largest Totnes Pride procession to date and held a rainbow flag raising ceremony to launch the event, a first for Totnes
– Facilitated 6 activity days in Totnes, South Devon attended by 52 people
– Hosted 2 fundraising discos in Totnes, South Devon
– Celebrated and promoted our work at 2 local Pride events
– Facilitated LGBT+ Awareness workshops for 3 PSHE days at schools and colleges in South Devon
– Facilitated 2 Equality & Diversity sessions to the charity sector
– Launched and facilitated 6 youth groups, with 15 young people aged 13-18 supported from Totnes and surrounding areas
– Made The Gay UK’s New Year’s Honours List for Community Project
– Nominated for three awards: The Princes Trust Celebrate Success Award, the LGBT Community Organisation award at The National Diversity Awards 2015 and the Diversity Marketing Campaign of the Year Award at the Excellence in Diversity Awards 2016
– Began working in partnership with 34 organisations as part of the LGBT Hate Crime Partnership. Led by LGBT Consortium and funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission
– Named as one of the UK’s 100 Awesome Networks by Inclusive Networks
– Launched a campaign to install Europe’s first permanent rainbow crossing in Totnes. The campaign received pledges of support, locally, nationally and internationally
– Facilitated a two day ‘Working with LGBT+ Young People’ Training in Partnership with Targeted Families
– Developed and facilitated four LGBT+ Hate Crime workshops delivered for the Equality and Human Rights Commission
– Proud2Be founders Max and Maya Price spoke at the first ever TEDXTotnes event. Their talk ‘How Shame Made Us Proud2Be’ was released and chosen by TedX to be promoted to their 3 million YouTube subscribers.

– Facilitated 12 social groups in South Devon, with an average of 26 people attending each month
– Nominated for LGBT Community Organisation Award at the National Diversity Awards
– Launched the new Proud2Be website
– With support from Cornwall School for Social Entrepreneurs, Proud2Be held an official campaign press launch in London
– Launched the first ever Totnes Pride. The event attracted 1000 visitors
– Hosted a social weekend in South Devon attended by 13 people

– In June 2011 identical twins Max and Maya Price recorded the first Proud2Be video and launched the Proud2Be Campaign
– In December 2011 London Gay Men’s Chorus recorded a Proud2Be video
