About Proud2Be
Proud2Be is a grassroots, queer-led charity that supports and enables LGBTQIA+ people in Devon and beyond to be free, safe, and proud to be ourselves.
Our Story
Twins Max and Maya Price founded Proud2Be in 2011, inspired by the bullying, isolation, and discrimination they experienced growing up queer in a rural village. What began as a bold video campaign has grown into a thriving social enterprise, building inclusive spaces and raising awareness across the UK.
In 2025 Max and Maya handed over leadership of Proud2Be to Mel Saint, who joined Proud2Be in 2020. Mel is committed to maintaining the values of Proud2Be and building up a strong foundation for it to grow.
What We Do
We create safe, welcoming spaces for LGBTQIA+ people and our allies, and raise positive awareness through training, and consultancy.
